Diacore opens registration for 2016

Registration for the 2016 Diacore Gaborone Marathon has started. The registration was officially opened on Friday 17th July 2015. According to the race owners, the marathon will be held on the 3rd April 2016. For over five years Diacore Marathon has enjoyed the support of Batswana whose dedication, perseverance, love for healthy active lifestyles saw the event growing to heights. 

The 2015 event has been the most successful reaching an incredible new milestone to raise P1 million for charity. According to the organisers, the early registration is meant to give more people the chance to be part of this big event for charity. To keep bettering the event, the organisers say there will be are a few surprises that they will be rolled out over the registration period.

In keeping with the honoured tradition of getting better and better with each year 2016 promises to have more runners, more memorable moments and more excitement than ever before by surpassing the 6,000 runners that took part this year,” read a statement from the organisers. The closing date of registration is 30th November 2015.

For the past years there has been allowance for late registration; however this year organisers warned that there will be no late registrations allowed. “There will be strictly no late registration for the 2016 event therefore runners are encouraged to register as early as possible to avoid disappointment,” clarified the statement.

The marathon registration is done online through the official Diacore Gaborone Marathon website DiacoreGaboroneMarathon.com. Payment methods include online credit card payments, EFT or a direct cash deposit at any Stanbic Bank Branch nationwide. According to organisers, group registration process has been simplified this year and made even more efficient for returning participants this year.
