He is one of the seasoned professional boxers in the country. Since he turned professional in 2009 Nkabiti has had 11 fights winning 9, losing one and drawing one. He turned pro after many years of fighting in the amateur ranks where he won almost every honour that he fought for including Boxer of the Year and Botswana Sportsman of the year. He even has the presidential honour under his belt. The captivating boxer has quite proven to be a hit in the professional ranks. Though he lost his last bout Nkabiti says that he is now well trained to gun for a win. He is due to take on Congolese fighter Paul Kamanga on August 7. Kamanga has won all his 15 fights as a professional boxer.
However Nkabiti is not shaken by the remarkable record that Kamanga has because to him a record is there to be broken. “I can’t undermine him or fear him because to me it is all about preparation and chances,” he said. He is raring to go and meet Kamanga in Johannesburg at Traffontein Race Course. This is the same place where Nkabiti had his debut fight as a professional boxer and won. Since the place hold great memories that launched his career, he said that he can’t get in that ring and let someone win over him there. He insolently said Kamanga might be undefeated because people like him have not been given a chance to take him on. He is sponsored by Bres and Buy and Build.
