BeMOBILE Premier league new comers Jwaneng Galaxy has parted ways with their coach. Galaxy has reportedly fired Oris Radipotsane following a string of poor performances by the team. Since getting promotion to top flight league the Jwaneng based outfit has had a disappointing spell to date. The diamond town team currently sits at position 12 with six points from the seven games played. The team managed only one win and three losses.

However some officials have tried to down play this saying they did not released the coach because of performance but for him to concentrate on the national team duties. Radipotsane was appointed the senior national soccer team assistant coach after the dismissal of Pio Paul. The club officials said on radio on Wednesday that the coach was not fired but released to do his national duties. Galaxy spokesperson Kealeboga Ramogobya confirmed that indeed they have parted ways with the coach.

Ramogobya further confirmed that Radipotsane was released because of poor performances by the team. “The committee felt that results were not forthcoming and decided to release the coach,” said Ramogobya. In Radipotsane’s position is now his former assistant Philani Mabhena who has been appointed caretaker coach while the hunt for the head coach is still on. Jwaneng Galaxy has had a good stint in 1st division getting promotion to the premier league in their maiden year after their merger.

It was expected that with the resources and experienced players the team has it would be at least in the Top 8 position. Galaxy management has previously highlighted that they the team to stay in the premier league and the move to sack the coach cements their intentions. They want results to be showing which at the moment are not coming in leaving the team in a dangerous position towards the relegation zone.
