Township Rollers Football Club’s Special General Meeting which was expected to be held this weekend has been moved to December 5, 2015. Not only has the date been changed but also the venue. The meeting that was to held at Marang CJSS will now be held in Palapye from 9am at a venue to be announced.
A communiqué was issued on Thursday morning inviting members to the meeting on the 28th November only for another one to be sent the following day informing of the change of dates and venue. This publication understands that decision to reschedule was taken at a meeting of the interim executive committee that was held on Thursday evening.
A statement signed by the secretary of the club’s society Ogolotse Tshupelo stated that the decision was taken because there was a feeling November 28 date was short notice. The purpose of the meeting is to give feedback to the general membership regarding the progress on the resolutions taken at the team’s Special General Meeting held on the 3rd October 2015. This includes allowing the Committee to share with the members the proposed models of Corporate Governance to be considered and adopted by the Club.
The meeting will also consider the necessary constitutional amendments to allow for such models. The members will further agree on modalities of updating Club membership renewal and regularisation in preparation for the Annual General Meeting. However, the initial meeting which was scheduled for this weekend has not totally been scrapped off as the committee agreed it can go on as a brainstorming session. This will be to prepare for the main meeting that will take place in Palapye the following weekend. The members will be informed of the venue of the Palapye meeting in due course.
