In a shocking development, Gaborone United Football Club has reported to have lost both its head coach and his assistant coach. The coaching staff left the club in a period of a week. This follows the sacking of Dragojlo Stanojlovic (the head coach) and the reported departure of Oris Radipotsane (the assistant) after amicably agreeing the terms with management.
GU management, however, could not deny nor confirm Radipoptsane’s departure. Contacted for comment GU Secretary General City Senne said the matter is still internal and would not want to comment on it at the moment. However, sources close to the club revealed that Radipotsane has left GU. The Former Jwaneng Galaxy tactician joined GU last year following his sacking at the diamond mine team. He has been linked with a move to a number of clubs among them Debswana First division North Sowa United.
Radipotsane’s departure leaves GU without a head coach and an assistant coach following Stanojlovic’s departure. It is not yet clear what caused Drago’s sacking as GU officials are mum on the matter. The club is said to have escalated its hunt for the replacement of the coaching staff. Reports are that goalkeeper coach Thabo Motang may as well be on his was out of the club. GU have always been marred by coaching problems. Drago had just taken up the coaching position three months ago, replacing Zimbabwean Rahman Gumbo.
