Mascom Wireless Pty Ltd has parted ways with Botswana Volleyball Federation. This comes as the wireless network provider giants decided not to renew the Mascom volleyball league sponsorship which came to an end in 2015.
“The year 2015 was the last year that we sponsored the Mascom Volleyball League, this marks the end of our partnership with Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) and we wish to inform you that Mascom will not be renewing the Mascom Volleyball League sponsorship,” read the statement.
This brings to an end the nine-year marriage between Mascom and BVF. During the nine years Mascom is said to have spent more than P8m in sponsorship for the volleyball league.
The wireless company is happy for the contribution they have made towards the development of volleyball in the country. Mascom will, however, not be lost to sport as it is involved in sponsorship deals across all sporting events not only in volleyball. These include soccer, horse racing, motorsport, athletics and golf.
“Sport is part of a country’s national pride and as the leading network operator, Mascom has the ambition to build on to this excitement and use these platforms to engage with our stakeholders and propel Batswana to be a proud and united nation through sport,” reads the Mascom statement.
