The title decider between Township Rollers and Mochudi Centre Chiefs has been thrown into further turmoil as conflicting decisions surfaces. Botswana Football Association President Tebogo Sebego had confirmed on Tuesday morning that the game will be played today (Wednesday) at 1500hrs. However, by end of yesterday reports came out of Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) that the game will not be played. Explanation given was that the match will disturb the national team camp which is on-going as the team is preparing for the COSAFA Cup in Namibia. Sources say the decision to call the game off was made by BNSC chairperson Solly Reikeletseng. BFA officials, however, are currently sticking to the initial statement that the game is still on this afternoon as they received no communication from BNSC to stop the game. This cancellation of the game has been confirmed in a press release from BNSC signed by the director of Business development, Thato Kgosimore. “BNSC writes to confirm that we have issued an instruction to BFA to postpone the game between Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Township Rollers in the interest of the national team which will be competing in Namibia COFASA tournament,” reads the statement. This has left football lovers in further confusion. Some are arguing that who is going to re-reimburse those who had already travelled to Gaborone after the confirmation of the game by BFA. Efforts to reach Reikeletseng proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
