Zim poised for Netball World Cup berth

Zimbabwean U-21 Netball team looks set to qualify for the Netball World Youth Cup to be held in Botswana next year. The team has not lost a single game in the five games it played by Thursday Evening. Zimbabwe is currently top of the table with 10 points from the five games. Zimbabwe is left with playing two games to complete their campaign against South Africa and Botswana. An interesting game will when they take on South Africa this afternoon (Friday). The two teams have not lost a game with South Africa collecting 8 points from 4 games.


When Zimbabwe and South Africa meet it will probably be a decider of who finishes top of the table. The twos team have tough and physical players who have shown determination in all their games. Three teams will qualify for the 2017 World Netball World Cup at the end of the tournament. It is not yet clear which country will be on third spot between Uganda and Zambia. However, a game between the two on Saturday will decide. 


Botswana has already qualified but virtue of being hosts while Lesotho and Namibia are out of the race. This follows the dismal performances from both teams which were yet win a game by Thursday. Meanwhile, Botswana U-21 netball team suffered another loss on Thursday through the hands of Uganda. Uganda beat Botswana 49-36, making it the third loss for the local side having lost to Zambia, Malawi and Uganda.
