Somolekae guns for Sebego

The current President of Botswana Football Association Tebogo Sebego did not have to say much about his campaign at the launch with various speakers endorsing him as the only right man that can take the local football forward. He declared his readiness to take the game to another level with the team that he has. He appealed to delegates to vote him in together with a team that could work well with him. His launch took place at Bona Tatso Township Restaurant at Old Naledi, an area where he grew up.

The councillor of Naledi Oarabile Senyolonyolo Motlaleng compared Sebego to Moses in the Bible, who was born in a very poor family, got favour with God and was elevated to be a man of honour. He said that as Naledi they will forever be grateful for people like Sebego who come from their poor township but made sure that they become successful either way. Old Naledi Kgosi Arnold Somolekae who was also the Chairperson of Notwane FC said Sebego did not fail but faced stumbling blocks that can be fixed. He appreciated him for including young men in the committee like Masego Nchingane who has played football and is also in the administration of football. “We should appreciate that Sebego has managed to achieve a lot. We should appreciate where he is coming from and where he can be able to go. He is here because he is not shy to go to the grassroots,” he said.

Rapula Gabotlhobogwe said they want people to understand that Sebego and his team that comprises of both men and women is the one that can take football to greater heights because they understand issues better. “These men and women appreciate that there is a strong desire for positive change, and that can only come from credible leadership and hard work to restore the BFA’s reputation,” he said. In his team he has Basadi Akoonyatse, Tariq Babitseng, Suzie Montsho, Masego Nchingane, and Olson Mantle. Sebego said that they choose all these people looking at their different strengths be it women football, business and youth development so that they can be able to tackle the issues well with the skilled people in such fields. He encouraged people to vote well on Saturday at the Annual General Meeting that will be held at Tlotlo Conference Centre.
