Top 8: Orapa vs Rollers

The 2015/16 Mascom Top 8 final will be reproduced when Orapa United take on Township Rollers in this year’s semi-finals. The two were tied together in a draw on Tuesday afternoon. When they meet at a date to be confirmed Rollers will be looking to avenge the 3-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of United last year.
Fireworks are expected to fly when the two meet. The battle is not only in Top 8 as Orapa United and Rollers are currently also in position one and two in the league race respectively. Orapa United spokesperson Tebatso Hule said they welcome the fixture and will reproduce what they did last year. Hule said Orapa United arguably has the strongest team ever and will be looking to reach the finals and possibly go on to defend their title. “We will not be going out to the game to prove anything because if you follow this team well you will notice we have already proved everything,” said Hule. He said the team has so far achieved all that was set for it which is prove that they are capable of delivering good results. Hule said even Rollers know them and they are aware of what Orapa United can do. Roller team manager Motshegetsi Mafa said they are ready for Orapa and will cause an upset to the defending champions. Mafa said the team is ready and looking to reach the finals again this year. He said the departure of coach Mark Harrison will not affect them as his assistant Mogomotsi Mpote – now care-taker coach – is equally capable of taking Rollers to the finals. “Mpote understands the stage we are in and has been with the team for some time. He is capable of delivering the team to the finals,” said Mafa. Both gentlemen are confident that the tough schedule before their teams will not affect their game. The two teams are currently preparing to take on Africa in CAF competitions and some argue that may bring a toll on them preparing for three competitions. In another semi-final match, Mascom Top 8 rookies Jwaneng Galaxy will be taking on BDF XI. The army side, which was kicked out in the same stage last year, will be looking to reach the final this year and possibly win the cup for the second time.
