Nomadic Gobonyeone Selefa is currently training with TAFIC Sporting Club, as he reportedly seeks to escape from Notwane Football Club. Selefa, aka ‘Shoes’, is said to have been playing for Notwane without a contract. It is against this backdrop that he has decided to move to Francistown. Patriot Sport is reliably informed that Selefa has been training with the high riding Matjimenyenga Boys for the past two weeks and TAFIC are considering to sign him. Selefa has played for Gaborone United and Mochudi Centre Chiefs before retracing his steps back to Notwane, the club that nurtured him. “It is true that Selefa is training with the rest of the squad. But there is nothing concrete that can be said at the moment,” revealed Warrant Kolola, the TAFIC spokesperson. When pressed further, Kolola could not confirm nor deny that TAFIC are interested in signing the defender, who at one point became a household name while donning the white and black striped Zebras jersey. “He (Shoes) is a good defender. But like I said before, there is nothing concrete at this particular juncture,” said Kolola. However, informed sources within Tafic have hinted that it is a matter of time before the defender signed on the dotted line. “We are ambitious and determined to apply ourselves this second round. With the efforts put in the first round, there is no way we are going to fail to be promoted. Selefa is expected to provide the much needed cover at the back such that we do not concede,” said a source. Attempts to get a comment from the player were futile.
