The Joy Foundation Supa Power Cup takes place at Francistown Stadium on August 19 with local sides Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Tafic taking on Zimbabwean teams – Highlanders and Dynamos. The tournament is a fund raiser for Joy Foundation to build the Joy Foundation Sports Facility in Mochudi where the facilities will be used to implement football development initiatives. The tournament will start with games between Chiefs and Highlanders while Tafic will play Dynamos later. Founder of Joy Foundation Joy Setshedi encouraged people to grace the stadium in large numbers because this will go a long way towards the development of their children’s careers.  “This will be an annual event and we do not have any prize money but we are hoping that they will be there next year because we are already in talks with potential sponsors,” she said. Setshedi said they will be paying players a P5000 appearance fee and this will be players selected by the public through an SMS competition. She said they are going to give the teams 5% of the money that they make from voting where an SMS costs only P1. She encouraged teams to urge their supporters vote so that they can be able to get better money. Each team will be allowed to bring a total of 23 players.
