U.S. Embassy hosts Paralympians

The U.S. Embassy will host two Paralympians May 11 – May 16 through the U.S. Sports Envoy program.  Dr. Andrea Woodson Smith and Ms. Rose Hollerman will conduct discussions and clinics to highlight the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The program will feature basketball clinics for coaches, athletes with disabilities, and school sports administrators.  In addition to focusing on the technical aspects of the sport, the Envoys will lead discussions on the topic of disability sports culture in the United States and its legal underpinnings.

The program takes place on the margins of the IWG World Conference on Women and Sport hosted in Gaborone May 17-20.
