2018 World Cup fever

Coca Cola Botswana recently hosted a promotional launch of the 2018 World Cup at the Masa Square Rooftop in Gaborone.

Coca Cola invited their different stakeholders including the local retired players like Diphetogo Selolwane. Coca Cola will be running promotions offering different prizes in the run up to the World Cup, which will include television sets, home theatres and airtime.

Selolwane, who was the guest of honour, hailed Coca Cola’s efforts of supporting football. “Football is a global event which has brought men from all over the world across boundaries into one, where they are united by hopes, anxieties, passions and joy. There is no other event that can achieve the same widespread effect,” he said. He said football was and is still life to him.

He said the sport teaches a lot – that is why billions of people will be glued their television sets.

“We may all not be in Russia but we still follow the outcome and we will have a chance to be part of the World Cup fever as we refresh with our Coca Cola and this is the efforts to remind everyone that indeed World Cup goes well with a coke,” he said.

Coca Cola Franchise Manager for Botswana and Namibia Moitshepi Sefako said they have decided to engage their fans as they get into the World Cup mood and thank them for their loyal support. “The expression signifies the culture of getting the best for the consumer and it encourages our customers to buy so that they gain something,” Sefako said. The competition has started on May 1 and will run until July 31.  Participating consumers are asked to buy any Coca Cola’s participating products which are Coca Cola, Fanta Sprite and Sparletta with a lime green cap and then send the unique code inside the cap via sms to 26536.
