The Botswana Taekwondo Federation held their AGM on September 1, 2018 in Phakalane where they unanimously re-elected Vinay Naicker as president to serve the second term in office. Under the watchful eye of Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) and Botswana National Olympic Commission (BNOC) the elections was conducted in accordance to the BTF constitution.
Club Members that were affiliated with the Botswana Taekwondo Federation and in good standing were eligible to vote. Like most elections in our sporting arena this election was not totally smooth sailing. The AGM scheduled for 2017 was postponed in 2017 due to constitutional technical discrepancies including voting affiliation and clubs in good standing.

The President gave his report indicating that as a Federation there was huge growth in Taekwondo as a sport with a database of almost 450 primary school children. Master Lee was charged with the duty of training the Elite team together with developing coaches and grassroots development in Taekwondo.
Naicker also stated that days before the elections six new Clubs handed in their documents for affiliation. A surprise as one wonders the motive but this is welcomed by The Federation as we need to spread wings and all applications for affiliations would be presented to the New Board for consideration. The pinnacle of the meeting was the elections. The following members were voted in as witnessed by all in attendance.
The following are Executive Committee: President- Vinaykomar Naicker; Vice President Celia Chikaonda, Secretary General Oarabile Bogatsu, Assistant Secretary Nkele Molate, Treasurer Sundar Yegnaswamy, Assistant Treasurer Peter Mwaura, PRO Tumelo Mapila, Technical Gladys Njoroge, and additional Members John Kula and Jestey Cooper.
