BOMAID has recently partnered with Gaborone Diacore Marathon as one of this year’s sponsors by putting up P200 000.00 to boost the marathon and help create a positive impact on local communities.
Speaking at the handover ceremony Bomaid CEO, Moraki Mokgosana said the sponsorship gives Bomaid an opportunity to contribute towards the health sector by promoting wellness. He said that they are concerned about the overall health of the country and want to assist in creating healthier and happier lives in the nation. “It is a critical contribution to the development of a healthy nation and creates healthy lifestyle among Batswana,” he said.
He said the marathon supports the organisation’s commitment of giving back to the community, in aid of disadvantaged groups done through the marathon’s charity work.
“This also comes as a great opportunity for the Bomaid brand and a great health engagement for the people of Botswana, reinforcing the organisation’s proposition of being ‘your companion for healthier, happier lives,’” he said.
Gaborone Diacore Marathon CEO Kfir Teichman said he was excited to have Bomaid on board as they have made a concerted effort and commitment as their companion for healthier happier lives.
He added that this year they have also partnered with Journey of Hope Botswana in an effort to help promote the breast cancer awareness campaign, something that continues to grow and affect more people especially women even though it could be prevented if detected earlier.
Meanwhile Gaborone Diacore Marathon has donated a special device Orcam (my eye) worth P50 000 to Mochudi Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind. The device helps those visually impaired in reading and recognizing any movement in front for them.
